Local Rules
1. Out of Bounds (Rule 27)
Out of bounds is defined by:
a) Any wall, hedge or fence boundary of the course.
b) The line of white posts to the right of the 1st hole.
c) The practice ground defned by a white line and posts between the 12th, 16th & 17th holes.
d) The grip or white line surrounding the Clubhouse area.
2. Stones in Bunkers
Stones in bunkers are movable objects and may be removed without penalty.
3. Protection of Young Trees
Protection of young trees identified by stakes. If such a tree interferes with a player's stance or the area of intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty and dropped in accordance with procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b(i) (immovable obstruction). The ball may be cleaned when so lifted.
4. Paths/Integral Parts of the Course
Blocked paved paths, all boarded edged paths and firmly established tractor paths are immovable obstructions. Relief may be taken under Rule 24-2b. All other paths are an integral part of the course.
5. Ground under Repair (Rule 25-2)
The Practice Bays located on the Practice Ground. If a player's ball lies in this area, or if it interferes with the player's stance or the area of the intended swing, the player must take relief in the 'Dropping Zone' located in the area.
6. Fixed Sprinkler Heads (Rule 24-2)
All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and Rule 24-2 applies. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without penalty, as follows: If a ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club-lengths of the intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids such intervention and (c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green.
7. Practice
Practice is permitted on any day of a stroke play competition only on the practice areas, including the practice green and bunker plus the practice putting green, in accordance with the committees decision under Rule 33-2c.
8. Distance-Measuring Devices
Distance-Measuring Devices are now permitted to be used in all Club Competitions. If during a stipulated round, a player uses a device which is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might effect their play (e.g wind, temperature or slope) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3 for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether such additional function is used.
