Local Rules
In addition to the Rules of Golf, as published by the R&A, and any temporary local rule posted on the Club’s Notice Board, the following local rules shall apply:
Out of Bounds – Rule 18.2
On or over any boundary wall, fence or road, including the brick walls at the clubhouse.
On or over any flowerbed, paved path or tarmac covered area at the clubhouse.
On or in the clubhouse.
Hard core car parks.
When playing the 18th, beyond the line of white posts to the right and behind the tee.
When playing the 14th, beyond the line of white posts to the left.
Note: A ball which crosses a public road defined as out of bounds and comes to rest beyond that road is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course.
Penalty Areas – Rule 17
Options for Ball in Penalty Area
Penalty areas are defined as either red or yellow. This affects the player’s relief options (see Rule 17.1d).
Abnormal Course Conditions – Rule 16
Fixed Sprinkler Heads
All sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 16.1.
Ball in General Area. The player may take relief under 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is:
On the line of play, and is:
Within two club-lengths of the putting green, and within two club-lengths of the ball.
Overhead Cables
If a ball strikes any overhead cable, the player must disregard that stroke, abandon the ball and play another ball as near as possible at the spot from which the original ball was played in accordance with Rule 14-6.
Suspension of Play – Rule 5.7
When the committee considers it necessary to suspend play immediately, the signal will be a single continuous blast of the siren. When play is suspended but the player has the option to complete the hole, being played, the signal will be 3 blasts of the siren. Resumption of play will be two short blasts of the siren, repeated.
