Local Rules

1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18.2)

  1. A ball is out of bounds when it is beyond any wall or inside line of any hedge bounding the course.
  2. On or beyond the public footpath behind the 3rd tee and running to the left of the 5th and 6th holes.
  3. Beyond the inside line of the privet hedge running from the boundary fence to the north west corner of the Clubhouse on the left of the 18th putting green and the rail on the right.
  4. On the left of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 11th and 17th holes, in or over any trench or beyond any line of white posts.
  5. The practice putting/chipping greens to the right of the 18th green, defined by line of white posts running alongside both greens.

 

2. RED PENALTY AREAS (Rule 17) - Defined by RED stakes

  1. The pond between the 3rd and 5th holes. 
  2. The marsh land to the left of the 8th and 9th hole. 
  3. The ravine in front of the 8th teeing area. As an extra relief option for the penalty area in front of the 8th teeing ground adding one penalty stroke, a player may drop a ball in the dropping zone near the 7th putting green. The dropping zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3.

 

3. PRACTICE PUTTING GREEN OR TEMPORARY PUTTING GREEN

The temporary greens located on the 4th, 5th 10th, 11th and 16th are wrong greens even when not in use and relief must be taken under Rule 13.1f.

 

4. NO PLAY ZONE (Rule 16) Defined by Blue stakes with Green top.

The area defined by Blue stakes with a Green top on the right of the 11th putting green on hole 11 is a no play zone that is to be treated as an abnormal course condition. Free relief must be taken from interference by the no play zone under Rule 16.1b however in this case the reference point to be used is the mandatory drop zone as marked.

 

5. PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES

The young trees identified by being supported with stakes are no play zones: If a player’s ball lies anywhere on the course other than in a penalty area and it lies on or touches such a tree or such a tree interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing, the player must take relief under Rule 16.1f.

 

6. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS IN GENERAL AREA

  1. All green 150 yard marker posts and yardage plates on the fairways.
  2. The steps leading to the 1st, 9th and 14th tees.
  3. All shelters, fixed tee markers and fixed benches.

Relief from interference by an immovable obstruction may be taken under Rule 16.1.

 

7. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO PUTTING GREENS

In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, when a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is: on the player’s line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green, and is within two club-lengths of the ball. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b.

(Exception – There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.

 

8. ROADS AND PATHS 

  1. All roads and paths on the course even if not artificially-surfaced, are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.
  2. On the 10th where 6.(a) above applies designated dropping zone is available.

 

9. PRACTICE ON THE DAY OF A STROKE-PLAY COMPETITION (Rule 5.2b modified as allowed)

A player may practice on the competition course before or between rounds in the following areas only. 

  1. The practice area up the valley between the 9th and 10th holes (care should be taken as this is an integral part of the golf course).
  2. The practice putting green to the right of the 5th green.
  3. The practice chipping area to the left of the 18th hole.

Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 5.2.

 

10. CLUBHOUSE

The golf course facing walls including steps and drainpipes of the clubhouse are defined as an integral object and are in the general area of the course. If a ball comes to rest against this area and is unplayable then the rule of relief under one penalty stroke is as per Rule 19.2.

 

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES 
Where not specified in the Rules of Golf: Stroke-play 1 Shot Penalty,
Matchplay: Loss of Hole.

 


PLEASE REPLACE ALL DIVOTS AND REPAIR PITCH MARKS ON THE GREENS.

ALL PLAYERS USING TROLLEYS ARE ASKED TO KEEP TO THE DESIGNATED TROLLEY ROUTES.

ALL DAMAGE CAUSED TO PROPERTY EITHER ON OR OFF THE COURSE MUST BE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY TO EITHER THE HON. SECRETARY, PROFESSIONAL OR BAR MANAGER.
