Local Rules
1. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS
All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 16.1b.
2. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS (NPZ, TEMPORARY WATER, ANIMAL HOLES) INCLUDING IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS.
NPZ includes any area encircled by a white line, Muntjac hoof marks in sand.
Immovable obstructions include all artificial surfaces, fairway markers and fixed sprinkler heads. In addition, if a sprinkler head on or within two club-lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole the player may obtain relief under Rule 16.1.
3. OUT OF BOUNDS
A ball lying beyond any perimeter fence, perimeter hedge or white stakes shall be deemed to be out of bounds.
4. TREE ROOTS
Where a player’s ball becomes unplayable because of an exposed tree root situated on a closely mown fairway or within a club length of a closely mown fairway then relief under Rule 16 may be obtained.
Relief is only available where the tree root impedes the stroke and is not available where it impedes the stance of the player.
5. NO PLAY ZONES
A no play zone is a defined part of an abnormal course condition (see Rule 16.1f) or a penalty area (see Rule 17.1e) where play is not allowed.
A player must take relief when:
His or her ball is in a no play zone, or a no play zone interferes with his or her area stance or area of intended swing in playing a ball outside the no play zone.
6. MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
All 150 yard markers, blue tee posts and line of direction posts are deemed movable obstruction (Rule 15.2).
7. BUGGIES AND TROLLEYS
All buggies and trolleys must be kept 5 metres away from green surrounds and/or greenside bunkers.
8. BUNKER RAKES
Bunker rakes must be left in the bunker with the handle parallel to but well away from the line of play.
Footprints should be raked across the line so the sand is evenly spread.
9. ETIQUETTE
All golfers attention is drawn to section 1 of the Rules of Golf – Etiquette with serious misconduct may result in disqualification.
10. PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE:
Match Play – Loss of Hole;
Stroke Play – Two Strokes.
