Local Rules
1. OUT OF BOUNDS: Beyond all boundary hedges, fences, white marker posts, in or beyond boundary ditches, on or beyond the car park and tarmac surfaces surrounding the Clubhouse and the practice putting green. 2nd hole - the ditch on the right hand side of the hole beyond the stream is neither a boundary ditch or a hazard. The ball is out of bounds beyond the ditch or the white markers at vehicle access points. 2nd hole - a ball finishing on the 8th fairway will be deemed out of bounds at all times. 15th hole - a ball finishing on the 14th fairway will be deemed out of bounds at all times.
2. TREES: A ball lying within two club-lengths of any staked tree MUST be lifted and dropped, without penalty, within one club-length from the nearest point of relief and not nearer the hole if any damage to the tree is likely whilst playing the shot.
3. PENALTY AREA: Yellow penalty areas marked with (yellow lines or yellow stakes) (Rules 17.1d(1) and (2)).
Red penalty areas marked with (red lines or red stakes) Rule 17.1d(3)).
A ball landing on a bridge may be played as it lies, or deemed to be in the penalty area.
4. MAIN GREENS/TEMPORARY GREENS: A ball coming to rest on ANY green (when not in use) MUST be lifted and dropped off the green, not nearer the hole, without penalty. When playing the 11th hole, any ball finishing on or within two club-lengths of the 17th green must be lifted and dropped in the indicated drop zone.
5. AERATION HOLES: Relief may be taken from aeration holes anywhere.
6. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS: All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief without penalty is available under Rule 16.1b. In addition, if a ball lies in the general area and an immovable obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club‑lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief without penalty as follows: The ball must be lifted and dropped at the nearest point of complete relief to where the ball lay that a) is not nearer the hole, b) avoids intervention and c) is not in a penalty area or on a putting green.
• All man-made paths are defined as immovable obstructions and as such, relief may be obtained without penalty under Rule 16.1a.
• 9th hole. The man-made path to the left-hand-side of the fairway, as defined by green stakes, is an immovable obstruction. If your ball finishes on the path, between the out of bounds stakes and the green stakes, full relief may be obtained without penalty under Rule 16.1a.
• 7th tee. This is a call up hole. Please do not play until you are called up by players from the 8th tee.
• 8th tee. Please call up the game behind before your group tees off. For your own safety please ensure that one of your group watches the game behind when you call them up.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE:
Match Play - Loss of Hole;
Stroke Play - Two Strokes.
