Local Rules 2026 – Scorecard Version

1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18.2)

i. Beyond the course-side edge of all boundary walls, fences & any line of white stakes.

ii. For boundary hedges, beyond the course-side edge of the hedge trunks at ground level.

iii. On or beyond the paved area by the Clubhouse defined by a white line.

iv. Beyond the course side edge of any boundary object at King Lane. A ball that comes to rest on the opposite side of King Lane to the hole being played is out of bounds even if it is on a part of the course that is in bounds for other holes.

 

2. PENALTY AREAS (Rule 17.1)

i. All Bridges and crossings are in the penalty area. Relief under penalty of 1 stroke is available under Rule 17.1b.

ii. The Red Penalty Areas to the left of the 2nd & 7th holes extend to and coincide with the out of bounds edges. When a ball last crossed the edge of a red penalty area where the edge of the red penalty area and a boundary of the course coincide, opposite side relief is available under Model Local Rule B-2.2.

 

3. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16.1)

All artificially surfaced paths, steps, distance markers, warning bells and artificial tees are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.

 

4. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO PUTTING GREENS

The player also has the option to take relief under Rule 16.1b when the ball is in the general area and such immovable obstruction (e.g. sprinkler head) is on the line of play, and is:

• Within two club-lengths of the putting green, and

• Within two club-lengths of the ball.

 

5. INTEGRAL OBJECTS (No free relief)

i. The boundary stiles on 5th hole is an integral object.

ii. The stone gate posts on the 18th hole are integral objects.

 

6. PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES

Those identified by green stakes are No Play Zones. Free relief must be taken under Rule 16.1f.
