Headingley Golf Club seeks to promote a friendly and relaxed atmosphere whilst maintaining a standard of dress, both on the Course and in the Clubhouse which is appropriate to a private Members' golf club. Members and visitors are expected to comply with the Dress Code at all times both on the Course and in the Clubhouse.

There should be no need for the Committee or staff to exercise any kind of supervision
over the dress of Members or Visitors. It should be left to the good taste of Members and
Visitors always to appear well dressed and to comply with our dress code. Please appreciate our staff have been given the authority to refuse service should there be noncompliance with our dress code.

a. GOLF COURSE
   
i. The wearing of the following is not permitted on the golf course:
   1. Shoes not specifically designed for golf.
   2. All forms of beach wear and denim wear.
   3. Workwear including cargo trousers or shorts with side pockets.

ii. Gentleman must wear a collar, polo neck or similar. Crew neck shirts specifically designed for golf are acceptable.

iii. If wearing shorts, gentlemen must wear matching or predominantly white socks.

b. WITHIN THE CLUBHOUSE

i. The wearing of the following is not permitted within the clubhouse:
   1. Workwear or overalls at any times.
   2. Football, rugby or hockey-type shirts and shorts or shirts with slogans that may cause offence.
   3. Singlets.
   4. Tracksuits, leisure or shell suits.
   5. Cargo/combat style trousers.
   6. Beach wear, or flip flops.

ii. Appropriate footwear should always be worn.

iii. Golf shoes are permitted in the TV lounge (which is not a spike bar) but only for the purpose of purchasing refreshments for the patio area. Please ensure golf shoes are mud free prior to entry.

iv. The Committee will advise those times when gentlemen must wear jacket and tie. Please enjoy your stay at Headingley Golf Club and your compliance with the foregoing would be greatly appreciated.
