Temporary Local Rules - Summer 2024

1. GROUND UNDER REPAIR/NO PLAY ZONES

a) Any area marked by blue lines or posts, is a No Play Zone and a player must take full
relief if either their stance or ball is within these lines.

b) Any area marked by white lines and/or defined as Ground Under Repair provides the
player with an option of relief. The ball may still be played as it lies.

c) Areas of unusual damage (on the regular maintenance traffic routes), caused by large
machinery traffic combined with wet conditions to alter the ground surface, may be
treated as ground Under Repair. Please note this does not include small indentations
caused by regular mowing practices and is confined to regular maintenance traffic
routes only.

2. PREFERRED LIES

a) When a player's ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the
player may take free relief within 6 inches, but not nearer to the hole. The original location
of the ball must be marked and the ball may be cleaned before placing.

3. RELIEF FROM AERATION HOLES

a) A ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole within the general area may not be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole.  The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green.

b) On the putting green, a ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole may be placed at the nearest spot not nearer the hole that avoids the situation.  

4. 1ST TEE FLOWER BED

a) This area, including the sleeper edges and step should be treated as a No Play Zone, with relief taken as detailed in Local Rule 1 and may also take relief if the sleepers interfere with the players intended swing.
