Local Rules
1.OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18.2)
- Beyond any wall or fence bounding the course.
- Beyond any white line or white stakes defining out of bounds.
- The clubhouse, professional shop and associated paths, car park, practise putting green and the greenkeepers compound bounded by white posts.
- Beyond the ditch to the right of the 5th, 8th and 9th holes (including the retaining wall).
- During play of the 15th hole the boundary beyond the brook to the right up to the line of white posts extending on to the fence boundary in front of the 13th green. The white posts are boundary objects and immovable obstructions. For the 13th hole, they are movable obstructions.
- Beyond the perimeter fence to the right of the 16th hole and beyond the shallow ditch encircling the waste ground indicated by the white posts. These posts are boundary objects and immovable obstructions.
- During the play of the 18th hole the white staked area right of the road in the general area of the 1st hole. The white posts are boundary objects and immovable obstructions. For the 1st hole, they are movable obstructions.
- The practise putting green and club house. The area which is out of bounds is noted by white posts and lines. White posts with black tops are for indication only and are immovable obstructions.
2. PENALTY AREAS (Rule 17)
- These are indicated by red stakes or lines with the edge of the penalty areas defined by its natural boundaries (where the ground slopes down to form the depression that can hold the water).
- Unmarked ditches on the course (even if they do not contain water) are deemed as red penalty areas.
3. PENALTY NO PLAY ZONE (PNPZ) 18TH HOLE - Note this does not impact the playing of the 1st Hole
The area within the red penalty area defined by red stakes with green tops, to the right hand side of the 18th hole is a no play zone that is treated as a penalty area and relief must be taken from interference by the no play zone under Rule 17.1e. It should be noted that relief must be taken the to the left of the PNPZ not to the right towards the 12th hole even if this is the nearest point of relief.

4. NO PLAY ZONES
The following areas are defined as No Play Zones and are treated as abnormal ground conditions. Relief must be taken from interference by the no play zone under Rule 16.1f:
- Young trees identified by stakes or artificial protection.
- The area identified by the blue stakes to the right of the 9th hole to protect the bund.
5. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS AND IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16.1)
- All areas encircled by white lines.
- For immovable obstructions close to putting green interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is on the player’s line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green, and is within two club-lengths of the ball. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES: GENERAL PENALTY
Match Play – Loss of Hole.
Stroke Play – Two Strokes.
