Local Rules
- Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)
- Beyond any fence, hedge or gate defining the boundary of the course.
- Beyond the white posts to the right of the 1st hole, behind the 2nd tee, behind the 9th green adjacent to the 10th tee, behind the 17th green and to the right of the 18th hole.
- Penalty Areas (Rule 17)
- Yellow penalty areas are defined by yellow stakes or yellow lines.
- Red penalty areas are defined by red stakes or red lines. When both stakes and lines are used, the stakes identify the penalty area and the lines define the margin.
- Abnormal Course Conditions (Including Immovable Obstructions) (Rule 16.1)
- All artificially surfaced roads and paths on the course, including those covered with wood chips. All other paths and tracks are integral parts of the course. Note: The road to the right of the 4th hole and behind the 5th green is deemed to be artificially surfaced along its whole length.
- The halfway house behind the 9th green.
- Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Green (e.g. Sprinkler Heads)
In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, when a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is: on the player’s line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green, and is within two club-lengths of the ball.
The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. (Exception – There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.) - Protection of Young Trees
The young trees identified by stakes or square tubes are no play zones: if a player’s ball lies anywhere on the course other than in a penalty area and it lies on or touches such a tree or such a tree interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing, the player must take relief under Rule 16.1f.
