General
Green staff have priority on the course. The ball MUST not be played when they are in range. Green staff will give way when practicable, please wait until the way is clear or you are called through.
Thunder and lightening
When lightning is a threat, your personal safety is your own responsibility.
Stop play immediately: If you see lightning or hear thunder, stop playing at once. Do not wait for a course's official signal if you feel you are in danger. Under Rule 5.7a of the Rules of Golf, you can and should stop play if you reasonably believe there is a threat.
Seek safe shelter: Proceed directly to the clubhouse.
Stay clear of danger: Avoid seeking shelter under isolated trees, as they are a frequent target for lightning strikes. You should also stay away from metal objects like your golf clubs, umbrellas, and fencing.
Do not use a golf buggy for shelter: Golf buggies, even those with roofs, do not offer protection from lightning.
