Local Rules

1. Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)

  1. A ball is out of bounds when it is beyond any line of white stakes, railings or fences defining the boundary of the course.

  2.  During play of the 1st hole, the right side of the hole beyond the red penalty area, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds.

  3.  During play of the 2nd hole, the left side of the hole beyond the red penalty area, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds.

  4. During play of the 3rd hole, the left side of the hole, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds.

  5. During play of the 4th hole, the left side of the hole, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds. This area is to be played as a red penalty area during play of all other holes.

  6. During play of the 5th hole, the left side of the hole, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds.

  7. During play of the 9th hole, the left side of the hole, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds.

  8. During play of the 10th hole, the left side of the hole, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds.

  9. During play of the 15th hole, the left side of the hole, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds and the right side of the hole, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds.

  10. During play of the 16th hole, the left side of the hole, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds.

  11. During play of the 18th hole, the right side of the hole beyond the red penalty area, defined by white stakes, is out of bounds.

  12. The white stakes defining out of bounds for points b) to k) are boundary objects during play of the specified hole. For all other holes they are immovable obstructions.

 

2. Penalty Areas (Rule 17)

  1. The red penalty area to the left of the 3rd hole defined on only one side extends to infinity.

  2. The red penalty area to the left of the 16th hole defined on only one side extends to infinity.

 

3. Abnormal Ground Conditions (Rule 16)

  1. Ground under repair is defined to be any area encircled by a white line. All areas marked as ‘Ground under repair’ or ‘GUR’ are to be treated as No Play Zones and complete relief must be taken under rule 16.1f. Ground under repair may include areas of unusual damage, including areas where spectators or other traffic have combined with wet conditions to alter the ground surface materially, but only when so declared by an authorized referee or member of the Committee. In this situation, the ground under repair will not be marked by a white line and is to be treated as an abnormal ground condition and players may take relief under rule 16.1.

  2. Mats that are secured are immovable obstructions.

  3. All sprinkler heads and drains in the general area are immovable obstructions.

  4. All staked trees are designated No Play Zones. If a player has any type of interference as defined in Rule 16.1 from such a tree they must take relief under rule 16.1f.

  5. All roads and paths on the course, even if not artificially-surfaced, are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.

  6.  Immovable obstructions close to putting green: In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, when a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is: on the player’s line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green, and is within two club- lengths of the ball. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. (Exception – There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.)

  7.  At the player’s option, dung from geese may be treated either as:
    • A loose impediment that may be removed under Rule 15.1, or
    • Ground under repair from which relief is allowed under Rule 16.1
