Local Rules

1. Out of Bounds
a) In or over all hedges, fences and walls bounding the course, unless otherwise defined by white stakes.
b) In or over the ditch left of the 3rd hole. The white stakes with black tops have been placed for visibility. These stakes are movable obstructions.
c) In or over the ditch to the right of the 9th hole. The white stakes with black tops have been placed for visibility. These stakes are movable obstructions.
d) Beyond the white stakes and security fence / gate to the left of the 11th hole.
e) Beyond the white stakes surrounding the practice putting green, behind the 10th tee, 14th green and 15th tee.
f) Beyond the white stakes to the right and behind the 16th green and left of the 17th hole.
g) Beyond the white stakes to the left of the 18th hole and behind the 18th green. 

2. Obstructions
i. The Temple at the 15th hole is an integral part of the course and there is no relief without penalty.
ii. All artificially surfaced and man-made paths in the general area are deemed to be immovable obstructions and relief under Rule 16.1 may be taken. The woodchip area under the cedar tree to the left of the 18th green is an integral part of the course, and no relief is permitted.
iii. All wooden sleepers and steps in the general area, which interfere with making a stroke, may be lifted and dropped in accordance with Rule 16.1. (Immovable Obstruction).
iv. A ball lying near a staked tree which interferes with the playing of the stroke, MUST be lifted and dropped in accordance with Rule 16.1f. (Immovable Obstruction).
v. All fixed sprinkler heads and drains / manhole covers are deemed to be immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 16.1b.
vi. Course furniture which includes, but is not limited to, benches, tee signs, bins and ball washers are deemed to be immovable obstructions and relief under Rule 16.1 may be taken.

3. Priority
Golfers playing the higher number holes have priority when play merges at crossing points. Please be mindful on the 1st, 8th, 11th, 14th and 16th holes.

4. Relief from wrong green 
The 1st and 6th greens are in very close proximity to each other. Rule 13.1f of the R&A rules of golf applies. When your ball is on a wrong green or a wrong green physically interferes with your area of intended stance or area of intended swing, you must not play the ball as it lies. Instead, you must take free relief.

5. Health and Safety
Green staff have priority on the course. If in range of your shot, please wait until either they are clear or are aware of your intention to play.
 
6. Suspension of Play
Suspension of play for a dangerous situation e.g. lightning will be signalled by a prolonged blast of an air horn. At such time all players on the course MUST discontinue play immediately and return to the Clubhouse. Resumption of play will be signalled by a further prolonged blast of the air horn. Members must use their own judgement and, if they consider conditions dangerous, leave the course immediately.
