Local Rules
ADDITIONAL LOCAL RULES
In addition to the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Limited, the following
supplementary local rules will apply to this golf course:
1. Out of Bounds Rule 18.2)
- Beyond any fence, hedge, wall or line of white stakes defining the boundary of the course.
- A ball coming to rest on or over the road to the left of holes 1 & 2.
- A ball coming to rest on or over road to the right and behind hole 18.
- A ball coming to rest in or on the clubhouse patio and surrounding terraces.
2. Penalty Areas (Rule 17) as defined by red stakes and/or red lines.
As defined by red stakes.
- All unmarked ditches are to be treated as red penalty areas.
- As an additional option to Rule 17 on holes 7 & 13, adding one penalty stroke, a player may proceed to the drop zones marked.
- A ball coming to rest on a bridge within the penalty area is deemed to be within the penalty area and relief is not available except as per Rule 17.
Model Local Rule B-3
“If a player does not know whether his or her ball is in the penalty area on Hole 3, the player may play a provisional ball under Rule 18.3, which is modified in this way:
In playing the provisional way, the player may use stroke and distance relief option (see Rule 17.1d(1)), the back on the line relief option (see Rule 17.1d(2)) or, if it is a red penalty area, the lateral relief option (see Rule 17.1d(3)).
Once the player has played the provisional ball under this Rule, he or she may not use any further options under Rule 17.1 in relation to the original ball.
In deciding when that provisional ball becomes the players ball in play or if it must be abandoned, Rule 18.3c(2) and 18.3(c) apply except that:
- When Original Ball Is Found in Penalty Area Within Three Minute Search Time. The player may choose either to:

- Continue to play the original ball as it lies in the penalty area, in which case the provisional ball must not be played. All strokes with that provisional ball before it was abandoned (including strokes made and any penalty strokes solely from playing that ball) do not count, or
- Continue to play the provisional ball in which case the original ball must not be played.
- When Original Ball is Not Found Within Three Minute Search Time or Is Known or Virtually Certain to Be in Penalty Area. The provisional ball becomes the players ball in play.
Penalty for Breach of Local Rule: General Penalty.
3. Abnormal Course Conditions (including Immovable Obstructions) (Rule 16)
- Ground under repair is defined by any area encircled by a white line or appropriately marked.
- All artificially surfaced roads and paths are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.
- In addition when the ball is on the path to the left of the 9h hole AND in between the 2 sets of blue stakes, the player may use the drop zone (optional).
- All sprinkler heads, pipes and covers for the irrigation system.
- Staked trees are to be treated as immovable obstructions (doesn’t include those with protective wrapping only).
- All fixed course furniture.
- Small bricked wall to the left of hole 9.
- Green vent pipes and electrical box on hole 15.
- Immovable obstructions close to putting green: In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, when a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is: on the player’s line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green, and is within two club lengths of the ball. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. EXCEPTION
– There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable. - Relief under 16.1b may be taken for a ball lying in a tractor mark or drainage works.
4. Resolving Issues During Round
A player who is uncertain about the right procedure while playing a hole may complete the hole with two balls without penalty: Guidance must be sought before the scorecard is returned with to the Pro Shop.
