Temporary Rules

HOLE 3 – INTERNAL OUT OF BOUNDS

During play of hole 3, the area to the right-hand side of the hole around the 4th hole, defined by white stakes, is Out of Bounds for any stroke that must be made from the teeing area. The white stakes are boundary objects during the play of hole 3 and for all other holes, they are moveable obstructions. The Out of Bounds extends indefinitely in the direction indicated by the two white stakes placed side by side.

PREFERRED LIES – Effective from 7th August 2026

When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing it from this relief area:

Reference Point: Spot of the original ball.

Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point: 6 inches from the reference point, but with these limits:

  • Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point, and

  • Must be in the general area.

In proceeding under this Local Rule, the player must choose a spot to place the ball and use the procedures for replacing a ball under Rules 14.2b (2) and 14.2e.”

Players may only take relief once (each time the rule is used). I.e. you are not permitted to take relief, place the ball and then decide to re-place it a second time.

Players are also recommended to mark the reference point before lifting the ball.

Please note that due to lack of definition the fairways have been marked with red dots, which will assist in determining if a ball is in an area cut to fairway height or less.

RELIEF FROM CRACKS IN THE GROUND

Cracks in the ground in the general area are ground under repair. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if there is interference to the lie of the ball by the abnormal course condition. Relief is not allowed if the crack only interferes with the player’s stance.

The nearest point of relief should be identified and a ball dropped in and come to rest in the relief area, which is one club length from the reference point, not nearer the hole and in the general area.
